The One Where We Arrive At High Hall
- Tylendel uses this down time to use the gathered herbs to make a healing potion. He rolls really well and gets an 8d4+8 healing potion.
- Whill feels his arm getting hungry
- Tylendel buddies up with Whill against the window and tries to pick his pocket again. Fails AGAIN. Whill feels it and instead of calling him out, he tries to pick Ty's pocket and succeeds. He steals his herbalism kit, Tylendel has no clue.
- We decide to quickly run over to the house across the street where Skari heard cries of terror.
- When we get to the house, we see a winged devil trying to peek into the house.
- Whill casts invisibility and rushes towards the house
- Tylendel goes "fuck", drops and stealths forward to try to keep close to Whill by watching invisible footprints in the dust
- Anise and Skari talk about being optimist and our chances of success
- Zema casts pass without a trace and him, Skari and Anise make their way towards the house.
- Whill sneaks up on the devil that is trying the front door of the house now and uses his hungry skele-arm to grab him. He slams that motherfucker around the way my cat slaps his little bird toy around.
- Whill's palm has a mouth in it (???) and it's like, chewing on this leathery thing and Whill can feel/see its body travelling up his arm as it sucks up the entire body. His arm is basically a vagina during reverse child birth.
- We run up to him, Tylendel is like "BRUH your ARM just ate a DEMON. ARE YOU OK!?" and pats him down for injuries while trying to pick his motherfucking pocket AGAIN.
- He fails. AGAIN. :( WORST. ROGUE. EVER. SHIT. FUCK. BALLS.
- Zema asks Tylendel if him and Whill are a thing, because they are awfully touchy feely.
- Tylendel says they are just friends, and Skari is like "HANG ON, LET'S GET BACK ON TOPIC. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS ARM!?"
- Zema says "It's fine. Whill is a good person. His arm eats people. No big deal. I used to eat people."
- Skari is like "wait, what?!" and says that he expected some "darkness" from the drow, but so far the drow looks like the best of the bunch. The party said "he's not".
- They catch Skari (and Tylendel, really, because he didn't really know about the arm's appetite either) up about what the arm is and what it entails.
- We head into the house.
- A dagger flies and Whill and Zema barely evade it. He sees into the house and a teenage boy threw the magical dagger, and there's a slightly older girl in there, but the last quake caused the stove to fall on her and she is unconscious.
- Whill just runs to help and the kid is like "DA FUQ" and we enter combat. He tries to lift the stove off the girl, but critically fails and the floor ends up collapsing and they fall into the crawl space, the stove landing on Whill too.
- Zema tries to deal with the kid. The kid offers his soul in return for help, and Zema is like "I'm a cleric from Baldur's Gate, racist much?!"
- Skari casts reduce on the stove, then him and and Zema pull it off the woman.
- Tylendel watches them lift the stove and goes "Oh, I could have done that. Ok, I'll lift the woman then" and casts levitate on the unconscious woman.
- Zema checks her stats, she would be in "death saves" stage. Zema feeds her a healing potion and we see her legs are crushed and broken.
- The boy introduces himself as Franz and the girl is Liza
- Anise waits outside in disdain that we barged into that house without being invited in. She also notices that the Companion has mini-lightning that appears to be probing the ground instead of destroying it. It seems to be searching for something - and we are either in its path and/or are the things it is searching for.
- Franz offers us 3 soul coins that a hellrider gave him to trade for help down here. He asks to keep one. Whill closes the case and walks out of the house. Skari accepts 2 coins and agrees to leave him one.
- Tylendel says his spell will run out soon, so instructs the kid to take bed sheets and whip up some sort of draggable sling contraption to pull his fiancé with.
- He describes 2 hellriders, the man that left him the coins, and a red-headed hellrider (whose description sounds a lot like Reya).
- Zema goes outside and talks to Anise. Anise is mean, and Zema is like "wtf is wrong with you?"
- Whill digs through the goop left behind by the demon his arm swallowed. He has to take a con save and his ears PERMANENTLY turn into wings. He now has a flying speed of 5ft. He is now Dumbo.
- Anise points out the mini lightning coming towards us, Tylendel hands Whill a mirror so that he can see the wings
- Skari casts remove curse on Whill, but it does nothing.
- We start heading to High Hall. We have to choose between a few different paths. Tylendel suggests the one closer to the bridge so that we can scout the bridge since our end goal is to clear it and help people across it. Everyone else wants to play it safe and take the path furthest from the bridge and use Skari's owl to scout.
- We get to a point not too far from High Hall and are blocked by a building burning by hellfire.
- We discuss what path to take. Franz takes out an apple and bites into it, then spits it out saying it tastes like ash, asks one of us to taste it.
- Skari takes the apple and inspects it, but rolls shit. It looks like an apple. He takes a small bite of it and agrees, it tastes like ash and dirt.
- He casts prestidigitation to make it taste like an apple, but it still has a weird texture. He hands it back and Franz just tosses it. As it lands on the ground, the apple starts prematurely decomposing and ash forms around it.
- The owl scouted the bridge that we didn't cross and sees that there are zero creatures on the bridge. There are a few flying creatures headed from the bridge up towards the bridge we destroyed.
- We make it the rest of the way to high hall without issue. We decide to approach it from straight on so that they don't see us as a threat trying to sneak in.
- As we approach, we see a number of short winged-creatures patrolling, but we are too far and cannot yet see what they are, however we see a familiar glittery glow inside.
- DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN...
