The One with the Gas Leak

• Brek is absent for this session and is missed
• As we leave the medical building, we, as a party, deem that Brek is suddenly the voice of reason in the party and are all terrified at this prospect
• Ezra and Zema talk about the demon armour out loud, and Whill overhears them and is all "wait, what?". None of us want to see the combination of lich arm + demon armour, so everyone pitches in to be all "WHILL, LOOK OVER THERE!" 
• Tylendel flashes his multi-coloured leaves in front of Whill to distract him.
• Anise mentions Whill's arm and Reya goes apeshit. She's all grouchy pants and the party is collectively telling her to calm the calamity that is her mammaries. 
• Ezra gets upset about Whill's arm and the fact that Balasar and Zema are just blindly protecting such an evil thing. 
• Anise starts the story from the VERY BEGINNING but everyone stops her before she can get past the part with "So there was a storm..."
• Anise reveals that if Whill dies, the dracolich goes free
• Tarnis and Ezra secretly talk about Julius Caesaring Whill. 
• Whill gets upset about everyone talking about killing him all of a sudden. What happened in that medical building ???
• Balasar has CHOICE WORDS with Reya and calls her disrespectful
• Anise picks weeds and finds a few nice flowers
• Istishia (High-lendel) is bored with the lack of stabbing in this mortal squabble and says that out loud. Ezra is all "wait what? a god? huh?"
• Whill creates a silent image of a giant sword stabbing into Istishia's chest. 
• Istishia is like "eugh, who dropped their sword?" but uses the fact that there is no pain or imminent death as further proof that he is, in fact, the great God Istishia
• ANOTHER DRUG HOUR HAS PASSED! Balasar is now sober
• Sober Balasar asks the party where his pants are. 
• Whill silent images some hawaiian floral print pants on Balasar
• Balasar gets his gear back
• On our way back to the keep, Zema hears chanting coming from houses and he recognizes them as being vampire protection spells being cast. These spells would allow vampires to walk in the daylight temporarily and be immune to religious symbols 
• Ezra uses his Divine Sense to track the chanters, and Whill uses the power of his amulet to boost his senses. Ezra can now pinpoint the exact locations of where the chanting is coming from
• He sees 3 houses where there is chanting happening. 
• Tarnis runs to the keep to get the guards to help us
• We split the party into 3 groups (smart!)
• Brek runs off and kicks in a door in a Brekky rage. Balasar follows to make sure he'll be ok. 
• Ezra, Anise and Reya head towards the second house. 
• Whill is incapacitated and hiding under a blanket in the street because of the after-effects of using his amulet. 
• Istishia sighs and stomps over to the 3rd house, and Zema follows to make sure he won't get himself killed
• Tylendel and Zema enter their house - the main floor is empty but chanting coming from the basement. The basement stairs are lined with runes which Zema recognizes as trap runes of the gods of the dead. They will explode if anyone who doesn't worship a god of the dead passes through them. 
• We plan to just grab the human chanting and casting the spell and pull them out, keeping them from completing the spell. 
• Zema, a cleric of Kelemvor, can pass through the runes just fine. 
• We attach a rope to Zema's wrist and Istishia stands guard at the top of the stairs holding the other end of the rope. If things go bad, he'll try to pull Zema up. 
• Zema descends and finds a single human chanting in the basement with runes floating around him. 
• Brek and Balasar kick in their door and search around, but find nobody in their house, so they head back outside to help Whill still cowering in the street. 
• Ezra turns into an episode of Cops and yells "Greenest Paladin Department!" and kicks in the door. They search the main floor and find a trap door leading down into a series of tunnels. 
• Back in Tylendel and Zema's building, Istishia rolls a 31 stealth check and basically evaporates as he readies his crossbow to help Zema from afar. 
• Zema silently casts spiritual weapon to just knock out the human. He succeeds and knocks him out in one-shot. 
• HOWEVER - the human was in the middle of casting a spell and the runes floating around him ignite and explode. 
• Istishia can feel the bad joojoo and pulls hard on the rope to get Zema out of there, but his pitiful strength does not get him very far. 
• The house explodes and both Zema and Istishia take a shitton of damage - Zema a bit less being Tiefling and resistant to fire. 
• The explosion incinerated both the human and the vampire in the house
• The stairs to the basement are in horrible shape and he cannot climb them back up. We need to get out because the house is on fire and starting to collapse
• Istishia throws his rope to Zema (since their initial rope was burned up), and casts Levitate on Zema. Zema is now a helium balloon. 
• Tylendel guides his Zema balloon out of the burning and collapsing house, but takes a flaming 2x4 to the head and breaks his concentration. Zema is no longer a balloon.
• Since they are both on the main floor now, Istishia jumps out of the closest window and Zema follows
• They agree to tell the party that it wasn't a vampire supporter at all in this house, but they walked in on a law-abiding citizen setting up a bomb to destroy the vampires. 
• Back at the Greenest Police Dept. house - Anise heads down first into the tunnels to scout. She can see remnants of fire and smoke at the end of one tunnel, signs that it connects to the house Istishia and Zema were just in
• She sees cart tracks in the dirt. Looks like a small hand cart. She follows them
• Around a corner, she runs into a human who goes "nooooo no no no no no! I wasn't supposed to get found out!" 
• Anise casts Minor Illusion and creates the severed head of Strahd in her hands.
